Last night Malia and I hosted a night of celebration of the successes over the past year. One such recent success has been the WASH Program (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) in partnership with the University of Texas Health and Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. The program, has started and Facilitator Training has begun - which means training the trainers - in the curriculum of the Community Health Clubs (CHC). These people will be the voice and the face of the CHC in their own community. Under some guidance they will educating their peers in the WASH program over the next 12 months. In conjunction with this we are building water purification systems in each community - our first one is about to be assessed by the Department of Health. If we pass, we will be able to sell the water to the community! (please pray that we pass!). These two projects will provide education, awareness and the tools for success and the removal of water borne disease. Thanks for your support.
