Who would have thought transferring ownership of a car would be so tricky? This is one thing that seemed easier in Ireland, back when I bought my only other car the 1993 Ford Escort from Thomas Cobine for Euro 900. It seems I like cars from 1993, as the Paseo is also a 1993. Unfortunately, 1993 is a lot older than it was in 2004! Yesterday I had a mechanic try to fix the speedometer, we thought he had failed. Till i drove the car today and saw the needle move...no need to use my phones GPS to tell me my speed anymore!
Project Updates
We are moving forward with a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) Project in partnership with the University of Texas. The partnership is still in the proposal stage but there is enthusiasm on both sides to make it work. They have been using a community health club model to promote better Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in communities in Africa for decades. It is proven to not only improve there three areas but also to strengthen community ties and trust. Read this brief article on the benefits of this approach.
We are also moving forward with a water purification project in association with Silverdale Rotary Club. One of our sites is located here. It is called Batey Altagracia.
We drilled a well in Uganda this week, at our Village Partnership site near Lira.
Personal Prayer Requests
Malia and I are working to remove the conditional status of a my "Green Card". It is a trying, expensive and long process. Pray it gets quicker!
Malia is transitioning in her new job, it is both easier and harder than she had hoped.
Continued support for us, financially.
